CHESTERVILLE – The North Chesterville Extension met at the Chesterville Town Office April 12.

Diane Maberry introduced Scott Sinay, who attends UMF and teaches Pilates classes. He brought with him a printed sheet explaining the definition of Pilates, the history, the method, the eight principles and the benefits. He gave some personal insight into how Pilates had helped him through some difficult times. He also gave a demonstration of some basic Pilates moves and got the group involved.

The group also discussed the upcoming rummage/bake sale. Every year the group does a fund-raiser to earn money to continue their community involvement and projects such as sponsoring the Brownie and Girl Scout troops and donating decorations for the Chester Greenwood Festival of Trees. It will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 30, at the Chesterville Town Office on the Dutch Gap Road.

The next meeting of the North Chesterville Extension Homemakers will be at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, at the Chesterville Town Office. The topic will be Role Reversal – Parent/Child Relationships. Sue Gill will lead the meeting. The public is invited to the free program.
