LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens met at Murray Hall on April 25 with 38 members present. Prior to the meeting, the group had the monthly meal from SeniorsPlus that consisted of chili and ground beef, steamed rice, corn, wheat roll and chunky fruit salad.

Chairwoman Shirley Couture opened the meeting with a prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for departed members and the men and women in the armed forces. Mary Groleau led the group in singing “Holy, Holy, Holy.”

“Happy Birthday” was sung to members having birthdays in April. They included Jeannette Pomerleau, Yvette Cloutier, Blanche Newell, Richard Bryant, Zeke Richards, Marie Gagnon and Dora Slovak.

Cards of thanks from the following were read: Joan Lauzier, Eugene Pomerleau, Marilyn Desoto and the family of Wilfred Mercier. Members welcomed back included Zeke and Annette Richards, Jeannine Williams and Ellie Mitchell.

There will be no meeting next week as the IP Mill will be using the hall. On Monday, May 9, the group will have a potluck meal, and members will bring articles to be donated to the Friends Social Club.

Channel 13, WGME, attended the meeting and televised the group reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and that segment will be shown on Channel 13 sometime in June.

The 50-50 was won by Eugene Roy and a wooden pig cutting board donated by Roy was won by Aurelien Couture. The meeting was adjourned and cards were played.
