FARMINGTON – The Sandy River Players will present their rendition of “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield.

Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. on May 12, 13, 19, 20 and 21, with a 2 p.m. matinee on May 22, at Alumni Theatre on the University of Maine at Farmington campus.

The presentation stars Mount Blue High School English teachers Matt Finch, John Logan and Dan Ryder in all the key roles. Combining slapstick, farce, comedia dell arte, rap and a football game, the play presents a current, hip and usually zany slant to the centuries old plays.

The production is directed by another English teacher, Deborah Muise, but it involves improvisation. Each performance builds on the next, and the audience plays a major role in much of the action.

Tickets are $8.50 for students and seniors, $10 for adults with special opening night ticket price of $6.50 and $8 and are available before the show at Howard’s Rexall on Main Street.
