LEWISTON – Mayor Lionel C. Guay Jr. and the Lewiston Youth Advisory Council are reminding residents that May nominations for the Mayor’s Citation of Excellence are due Friday, May 13.
Members of the public may submit a one-page nomination of a local middle school or high school student concerning an action or accomplishment deemed as “extraordinary” or “above and beyond.” The action or accomplishment must have occurred within the last two months, and the nominated youth must reside in Lewiston.
Following the May selection by Guay and the council, the mayor will present the citation to the selected youth at his/her school in the latter part of the month (at the student’s home if home schooled). Nominations may be sent to Guay at 27 Pine St., Lewiston, ME 04240, or c/o dottie@ci.lewiston.me.us.
