‘Tommy, the Rock Opera’ staging at Poland high

POLAND – The Pinball Wizard is coming to Poland. On May 6-8, the Poland Players will present “Tommy, the Rock Opera” at Poland Regional High School.

The musical, centered on the journey of a young man from isolation to awareness, is based on The Who’s classic break-through album.

After witnessing the shooting of his mother’s boyfriend by his MIA father, who has returned from the war, Tommy is traumatized. He becomes blind, deaf and dumb, and is bullied and mocked by his peers. Luckily, his talent for playing pinball is discovered, and he becomes a cult hero.

Shows will be at 7 p.m. May 6 and; at 2 p.m. May 8. Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. For more information and reservations, call 998-5400, extension 218.
