Lewiston – D’Youville Pavilion Long-Term Care Facility will hold a free community health fair Tuesday, May 10.
The fair, called Celebrating Our Elders, will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. There will be education programs, health and wellness screenings, and information on resources available for seniors. Offerings include:
• Caregiver and Alzheimer’s education sessions
• Information on advance directives and living wills
• Hearing and driving screenings
• Senior College information
• Memory mini-screening
• Blood pressure screenings
• Adaptive equipment displays and balance testing
• Information on living independently and safely at home
• A demonstration on Web surfing for health information
• A Franco-American Heritage Center booth
• A Red Hat Society program titled “Making Your Own Bath Salts”
• Information on communicating with health-care providers
• Resources related to spirituality
• Diabetes information, including new blood sugar ranges and treatments
• Neck massages, exercise demonstrations, and nutrition tips
The fair will be hosted at d’Youville Pavilion. Light refreshments will be served and door prizes drawn. More information may be obtained by calling 777-8823.
