HARTFORD – Selectmen met Monday night to postpone the annual meeting until 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 11. This was necessary due to the town’s computer crashing. The warrant could not be published in time for the scheduled May 21 meeting.
Elections will proceed as scheduled from noon until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17. The first article will be to select a moderator and the next article will be elections of officers by ballot.
Jason Rowe and Roland Ric Downing are running to fill the vacancy left by Scott Swain on the Board of Selectman. Rowe’s parents are both former selectmen, and Downing is a school board member and former chairman of the Road Committee.
Three people are seeking the position of town clerk. They are acting Clerk Zoe Cowett, former animal control officer and deputy clerk Lianne Bedard, and Monica Mailly, former clerk.
Alan Bim McNeil is seeking re-election for road commissioner and runs unopposed.
At the close of voting on May 17, the moderator will entertain a motion to change the date of the annual meeting to June 11.
