FARMINGTON – Questions about living wills and advance directives will be answered during the “Prescriptions for Health” presentation from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, May 13, in the Franklin Memorial Hospital Bass Room. The presentation will feature community members from the Western Maine Hospice and Palliative Care Coalition.
With proper planning and advance directives, individuals can provide information to their family and physician to assure they are provided the health care they wish, should they be unable to speak for themselves.
“It really is not that difficult to prepare advance directives and appoint a health care proxy if either of these things are ever needed,” said coalition member Diana White, RN. “We will introduce these topics, demystify the language and explain the process for getting your wishes on paper.”
The presentation is free and open to the public and includes a complimentary lunch of soup, gourmet bread and a beverage.
Registration is requested. Those who would like the lunch are asked to come a few minutes early. For more information, call Jill Gray at 779-2555.
