LEWISTON – Members of area veterans organizations and the public attended memorial services at the Veterans Memorial Park, commemorating the anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War.

The program opened with the singing of “Star Spangled Banner” by the assembly, followed by invocation by Chaplain Jerry DerBoghosian, Post 9150, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

A special tribute essay was read by Post 22, American Legion, Cmdr. Richard Giem.

The names of those who lost their lives during the Vietnam War from Lewiston and Auburn were ready by Americanism Officer Robert MacDonald, Post 9150.

State Sen. Peggy Rotundo gave the keynote addressed, followed by “Taps” and the singing of “God Bless America” by the assembly.
