JAY – The third-grade Jay Lego Mind Builders Team at the Jay Elementary School competed recently in six events at the Maine Robot Spring Track Meet at Brewer High School. Coaches are Rob Taylor and Lin Worster.
Taking part were Josh Daigle, Kayla Meserve, Jen Nichols, Gabby Severance, Emily Taylor, Erick Taylor and Moses White.
Jay won the first-place trophy for designing a Lego bridge (span of two feet) that held 60 pounds.
It was the lightest bridge. Jay won the second-place trophy for fastest robot.
The students competed against seventh- and eighth-graders from eight schools in eastern and northern Maine.
The over-all trophy was won by the Lego Lions Team from Belfast.
