EDGECOMB – The Mid-Maine Rose Society will hold a workshop at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at Anderson’s Nurseries, Route 1. The workshop will be presented by society members.

A lunch will be held at 11:45 a.m. and meeting at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 5, at the Taste of Maine restaurant, Route 1, Woolwich.

Aviation camp

BANGOR – Maine’s 12th annual Aviation Career Education Camp is announced. Registration is open for all Maine students, ages 13 to 18.

The Federal Aviation Administration, Eastern Maine Community College, Maine Air National Guard, Maine Army National Guard, Bangor International Airport, Telford Aviation and hundreds of individual volunteers sponsor ACE Camp, a weeklong, overnight camp where students receive classroom instruction and hands-on training.

Forty students will be accepted. Tuition is $450, which includes staff, housing, transportation, food, hats/T-shirts, model rockets and awards. Deadline for application is June 1, and limited financial assistance is available. Campers will room at Eastern Maine Community College.

Camp open house

READFIELD – Girl Scouts of Kennebec Council will hold open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at its resident summer campsites: Scelkit Program Center, Gerrish Island, Kittery Point; Pondicherry Program Center, Bridgton; and Kirkwold Program Center, Readfield.

Each camp’s program director will be available to answer questions about camp programs and site facilities. Self-directed tours will be offered.
