WILTON – Artist Barbara Hathaway has been selected to paint a huge fiberglass salmon sculpture to be displayed in Ellsworth from June to October.

The project is to benefit Faith In Action Community Connection, which helps seniors remain in their homes. Hathaway is sponsored by Chris Brown of Downeast Printing Product.

The theme is a Native American fisherman and fishing village with fall foliage and sunset. The work is titled “Fins and Feathers.” The fish sculptures will be auctioned in October at the Golden Autumn Festival.

Hathaway holds a certificate of advertising design from the University of Maine at Augusta and is a member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Maine Museum of Art and Upcountry Artists.

She instructs art at Auburn and Farmington Adult Education. Her work can be seen at http://userpages.prexar.com/bhaway/Hathaway Design & Art.html.
