GORHAM, N.H. – The 14th annual Kids Free Fishing Day will be held at Wildcat Pond on Saturday, June 4, rain or shine, for all kids age 15 and younger.

Beginners and experienced anglers are welcome to join in, and even non-anglers will find something interesting to do.

The day will begin with registration at 9 a.m. followed by fishing, a casting contest, learning stations and raffle prizes awarded at noon.

Learning stations with information about watersheds, aquatic insects, fishing ethics and Leave No Trace will be available.

U.S. Forest Service Fisheries Biologist Jay Milot will offer one-on-one instruction in rigging gear and other fishy topics. A fishing pool and a visit from Barry the Brook will entertain the youngest anglers.

Wildcat Pond is located at the Wildcat Ski Area on Route 16. For more information, call the Forest Service at 466-2713 (TTY 603-466-2856).
