CASCO – A second regional trail meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at the Casco Community Center on Route 121 in Casco Village.

The goal is to further the trail priorities determined by attendees at the first summit on March 4 at the Bridgton Community Center. At the initial summit different groups of people from the Lakes Region and beyond discussed the issues involving recreational trails in the area.

Small-group sessions and surveys showed the majority of the attendees wanted the existing trails inventoried and published and for the towns in the region to have organized trail committees. The June 2 meeting will follow that theme, with brainstorming sessions on how to accomplish the goals and to begin forming town-based committees.

Pizza will be provided. The event is being sponsored by the Casco Open Space Committee, Lakes Environmental Association, Lake Region Healthy Communities Coalition and Healthy Options Together local Healthy Maine Partnership.
