FARMINGTON – A new wedding service is being offered by Henderson Memorial Baptist Church for couples in the community who wish to be married in a church setting. Couples who are not church members sometimes call many churches looking for a place to hold their weddings. Henderson Memorial would like to accommodate those couples by offering an affordable location with a ceremony performed by a notary.

Elbridge (Skip) Wyman, co-chairman of the Diaconate, hopes “this new wedding service will be a way to reach out to young people in the community.”

Christian wedding ceremonies for church members and their families are performed by the pastor at Henderson Memorial; preparation includes several premarital conversations with the couple.

“This new wedding service will provide a nice option for couples in our community who may not want the premarital counseling,” said the Rev. Susan Crane.

For more information, call the church at 778-2163 during office hours from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday, or leave a message on the voice mail with name and address. An information letter and reservation form will be mailed.

Henderson Memorial Baptist Church is located at the corner of Main and Academy streets, across from the UMF campus.
