HEBRON – Rob Curtis, Hebron class of 1991, was the speaker at Hebron Academy’s annual Cum Laude Society induction ceremony on May 6. Curtis presented a slide show and spoke to the school community about his experiences as a photojournalist covering military operations in the Middle East and other places around the world.

Curtis has traveled to more than 30 countries for assignments. He was in Kosovo in 1999 and Afghanistan in 2001. In 2003 he was embedded with the Second Brigade of the Army’s 101st Airborne Division in combat operations as the war in Iraq began.

Curtis works for the Military Times Media Group near Washington, D.C., where he supports seven weekly newspapers and three monthly magazines. He also contributes photos and stories to Gannett News Service, the parent company of Military Times, and to USA Today. His first job after graduating from Boston University was at the Lewiston Sun Journal.
