NORWAY – Sen. Susan Collins has announced that a representative from her Lewiston office will hold office hours from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at the Norway Town Office, 19 Danforth St.

Staff Assistance Carlene Tremblay will be available to meet with residents to listen to their concerns and provide assistance with federal issues and agencies.

Barbecue, expo

NORTH CONWAY, N.H. – Mount Washington Observatory has teamed up with Jesse Lyman Oil Inc. and Subaru of America to present the Bye Bye Black Fly Barbecue and Alternative Energy Expo, June 11 at Mount Washington Center.

The day’s festivities are open to the public and will feature displays and programs on alternative energy, a climbing wall (for kids of all ages), barbecue and live music by Carol Noonan, Tom Dean, Bill Morrissey and Cormac McCarthy.

The Weather Museum will open at 10 a.m. and the Alternative Energy Expo and programs will begin at 11 under a tent in the observatory parking lot and in the Mount Washington Center, home of the weather museum.

Needs teachers

NORWAY – The Western Maine Art Group is seeking volunteer art teachers to teach at the Lajos Matolcsy Art Center. Summer courses in fine arts in any medium or crafts for any age are wanted. The art center is situated across the street from the Universalist Church and will be open during July and August. For more information, call Nancy Engdhal at 583-6677.

Dance program

BETHEL – The Toe Tappin’ Jazz Dance Studio will present “The Wizard of Ozland 2005” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, June 23 and 24, at the Helen C. Berry Auditorium, Telstar High School. It will be under the direction of Amanda Bess Jordan. Cost will be $8 for adults, $6 for students.
