AUBURN – Joline Girouard was named Local Teacher of the Year by Wal-Mart of Auburn.
Girouard graduated from St. Dominic Regional High School in 1971 and became a teacher in the math department upon graduation from college. She is now assistant principal, math department chairwoman and a moderator of the St. Dominic Math Team.
Girouard was presented a check for $1,000 for use in the school, a certificate and other gifts on May 3 at the school.
Girouard received the award for her outstanding contribution to education.
