Adam J. Harvey graduated magna cum laude from Colby College on May 22, earning a bachelor of arts in history with honors and in government with distinction.

Harvey was inducted into Phi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society as a junior. He also was the winner of the 2004 Ben Ling Government Department Fellowship. He participated in an internship with Sen. Olympia Snowe.

In 2005 Harvey was awarded the Jack Foner Award for best senior research paper in history.

For three years he worked for the Colby libraries, becoming the book processing supervisor and in his senior year was awarded the Class of 1941 Book Prize for meritorious service to the Colby libraries.

During his four years at Colby he participated in the America Reads/America Counts program in which he worked with children in the local school systems.

Harvey is the son of James and Betsy Harvey of Millinocket. He is the grandson of James and Patricia Harvey of Old Town and Beverly and the late Robert Franchetti of Wilton.

He will attend the New England School of Law in Boston, Mass.
