The United States Achievement Academy has announced that April J. Buchheit of New London, N.H., has been named an All-American Collegiate Scholar.

The USAA has established the All-American Collegiate Award Program to offer recognition to superior students who excel in the academic disciplines. The All-American Collegiate Scholars must earn a 3.3 or higher grade point average. Only scholars selected by a school official or other qualified sponsor are accepted. The scholars are also eligible for other awards given by the USAA.

Buchheit, who attends Colby-Sawyer College, was nominated for this national award by Dr. Jean Eckrich, chair of the Exercise and Sports Science Department. She will appear in the All-American Collegiate Yearbook, which is published nationally.

She is the daughter of James and Lynne Buchheit of Wilton. Her grandparents are Lee and Jeanette Carson of Berea, Ohio, and Lois Taylor Buchheit of Highland Heights, Ky.
