LISBON – The Old Antarctic Explorer’s Association – the New England Chapter announced that the Great Works Internet has made a donation of Internet services to their organization. Great Works Internet has provided ongoing Web site hosting, e-mail and Internet access to the Old Antarctic Explorer’s Association of New England, also known as the OAEA-NE.

The donation is made as part of GWI’s ongoing Charitable and Nonprofit Program, which is designed to help nonprofit organizations increase their ability to communicate with the public and further their mission via the Internet. According to GWI, as long as an organization or company is involved in an earnest effort to help others, they meet the primary requirement to qualify for assistance.

“We are very excited about being on the Internet,” said Dave Hazard, president of the OAEA-NE Chapter, “and are extremely grateful to Great Works for providing us with this opportunity. We see the Internet as an important tool in both letting people know about our programs and services, and in our fundraising and volunteer efforts.”

To date, Great Works Internet has established free or low-cost Web sites for more than 240 nonprofit organizations in Maine. Any nonprofit 501c organization in Maine that would like to have its own Web site and Internet access should visit http://www.gwi.net/business/nonprofit.html.
