LEWISTON – The Senior College “Food for Thought” luncheon program at USM/Lewiston-Auburn on Friday, June 10, will feature a presentation by Dianne Russell Kidder on her experience of living in Beirut, Lebanon, in the early 1970s.

A teacher at the American Community School and a resident in a Muslim area of the city, she experienced the start of the Lebanese civil war before leaving the country in 1975. Her remarks will include comments on interesting differences between their culture and ours.

The program will be held in the function room at USM/Lewiston-Auburn beginning at noon. The cost, which includes lunch, is $5 with advance reservation or $7 at the door. Door will open at 11:30 a.m., and reservations may be made at 753-6510 or online at www.usm.maine.edu/lac by Thursday, June 9.
