FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Children’s Task Force will offer two parenting groups starting Monday, June 6.
Nurturing Fathers is a program designed for dads, step dads or any male fathering a child. The 12-week program helps males who are parenting learn respect, empathy and nurturing discipline techniques.
Parent education and support group is open to men and women who are parenting, with the focus being on the targeted needs of participants. Topics will include appropriate discipline techniques, empathy and understanding a child’s feelings and emotions, and the needs of the parents. The program will be an on-going event.
Both will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church on the Farmington Falls Road. Childcare and snacks will be provided free.
