NEW YORK (AP) – A 2-year-old boy survived a fall from a fourth-floor window of a Bronx building where he lived with his family, police said.
The boy landed on an awning over the building’s first floor after he fell Tuesday at about 10:40 a.m., police said. He suffered broken bones and a head injury and was listed in serious but stable condition at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia Hospital.
His mother was sleeping in the apartment when the accident happened, police said.
There was a metal guard in front of the window but it was unclear whether it was properly installed, authorities said.
