AUBURN – The Auburn-Lewiston YMCA offers more than 40 exercise classes every week. Of these, nine classes are yoga.

The yoga room is a peaceful, quiet and serene setting to experience the benefits of the program. Yoga is a practice of energy-giving exercises that strengthen spirit, mind and body. Yoga not only improves flexibility, strength, posture and balance, but can also relieve stress and sharpen the internal focus.

“Yoga is a wonderful way to prepare yourself to start out a fruitful day. It is also an excellent way to complete one’s workday and prepare your body and mind for a relaxing evening,” said YMCA Wellness Coordinator Tish Caldwell. “Come join us at 6 a.m. on Monday or 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday to experience yoga for yourself. We also offer various daytime classes.”

Yoga and all other exercise classes are included in the YMCA membership. For more information on yoga or any other YMCA activity, contact the YMCA at 795-4095, stop by at 62 Turner St. or visit the Web at www.alymca.com.
