Artist for June

RUMFORD – Sharon Degiovanni will be the featured artist at the Pennacook Art Center for June.

The exhibit will open on Friday, June 10, at the gallery’s First Birthday Party, which will run from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The artist will be on hand to talk about her work. The show will include pastels and oil paintings of landscapes, portraits and tree spirit art.

Youth meeting

MEXICO – A Youth Resource Team meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at the Teen Center, Recreational Drive.

The agenda will include an appreciation/ice cream social, review and planning the next steps for the center, a youth resource team structure, roundtable discussion and events calendar.

Nominations

OXFORD – The U.S. Department of Agriculture will accept county committee members nominations from June 15 to Aug. 1.

Laura Rand, county executive director for USDA’s Farm Service Agency in Oxford County, announced the USDA will soon begin accepting nominations for eligible candidates to serve on local Farm Service Agency county committees. All nomination forms must be received in the Oxford County FSA Office or postmarked by Aug. 1. Voting will take place between Nov. 4 and Dec. 5.

The County Committee oversees local FSA operations. It makes decisions on commodity price-support payments and eligibility, conservation programs, disaster assistance and other agricultural issues.
