LEWISTON – The “Just for Men” Community Cardiovascular Risk Screening Clinic scheduled for June in two Androscoggin County locations is still accepting participants at the Turner site, while the Auburn site is nearly full.

The event will provide free cholesterol screenings, including total cholesterol and HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol). Results will be available immediately. Blood pressure checks, cardiovascular risk assessments and information on heart health. Local cardiac resources will also be provided at no charge.

The screening event is for men only. It is being presented in memory of cardiac patient Mel Hanson.

Screenings will be offered at the following locations: Leavitt High School, Turner, 21 Mathews Way, Room 130, from 5 to 7 p.m., June 7 and 21 and CVS Pharmacy, 8 Union St., Auburn, from 5 to 7 p.m. June 14 and 28.

Registration is required. Men who are interested in participating in the screening should call Donna Jordan at 795-2614 or register by sending an e-mail to jordand@cmhc.org.
