TURNER – In celebration of 25 years of lifelong learning, SAD 52 River Valley Adult and Community Education is presenting its summer schedule. The following classes and sporting camps begin June 20 through 29:

Chemistry with Lab: It provides a background for those planning to take programs that require chemistry with a lab. Some algebra would be helpful. The class is also for high school students who need to make up a class they did not pass during the school year.

High School Girls’ Basketball: The program is for all girls entering grades nine through 12 to prepare for the upcoming season. There will be games and practices Monday through Thursday. Practices will vary, with some in the morning and others in the afternoon, but all games will be played in the evening.

Girls’ High School Soccer: Prepare for the upcoming season by participating in summer soccer. The program will focus on basic skills to team tactics. There will be practice sessions and several scrimmages throughout the summer program. Participants need to supply cleats, water bottle, shinguards and mouth guards.

Boys’ High School Soccer: During the summer soccer league, games will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Practices will focus on conditioning for the fall. Participants need to supply cleats, water bottle, mouthguards and shinguards.

Cross Country Running Camp: It is for anyone interested in joining the cross country team at Leavitt Area High School, beginners through advanced athletes. The camp will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays.

Inspired To Be Great Life Skills/Martial Arts Camp: The program offers students in grades six though eight an opportunity to participate in active movement and the ability to master and make positive changes in life. Students will learn some martial arts and have some at-home work to do daily. Students must be able and willing to do physical and written work.

Math: Work at your own pace with small classes and personal attention. Diploma, GED, college prep instruction in math, pre-algebra, algebra I and II, trigonometry, geometry and basic accounting are available.

Summer Cheering Camp: The five-week camp will focus on jumps, motion technique, dance, stunts and tumbling. It will be taught by Brenda Perry and the Leavitt varsity cheerleaders.
