CANTON – The Volunteer Fire Department will host the fourth annual Canton Summer Fest and an auto show for the first time from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Municipal Building and the ball field across Route 140.

There will be 20 classes in the auto show, which will be held rain or shine. The fest rain date is Sunday June 12. Registration fee for the auto show will be $5 for car, driver and passenger.

There will be a craft fair/flea market in the Municipal Building and the fire station. Tables are available for $10 and $15.

In the ball field there will be door prizes, food, refreshments, games, magic show with Phil Smith of Abracadabra, moon bounce, women’s and girls’ fry-pan throwing contest and husband/wife wheelbarrow race. The Canton Jail will be open. The Band Off The Hill will perform from 1 to 4 p.m.

Admission to the ball field will be $3 for adults; $1, age 10 to 17; free, under 10. An adult must accompany children. No alcohol or pets will be allowed.

In front of the fire station the Whitney Masonic Lodge 167 will host a noon chicken barbecue at noon at a cost of $5 a meal.
