KENTS HILL – The faculty and student body of Kents Hill School spent May 17 battling the weather and black flies on the biannual Community Service Day.

Students and faculty spent the day clearing trails at Tumbledown and Streaked mountains, weeding and raking senior citizens’ gardens in Readfield, Wayne and Fayette, working in the Readfield cemeteries and serving at the Bread of Life Soup Kitchen and Homeless Shelter.

Part of the school’s mission teaches that “one man or woman of principle can make a difference.” Community Service Day is the day where the Kents Hill School students, faculty and staff work together to make a difference in Maine backyards and communities all over the state.
