FARMINGTON – Sharon Jacques was chosen as the 2005 Sister (member) of the Year for Farmington Emblem Club 460. Past sisters of the year make up the group who select the next member each year.
At the monthly potluck supper held before the June meeting of the club, past “sisters” wandered around the room as a poem was read about their choice for 2005. After several hints in the poem, members began to realize who had been selected.
Jacques received a floral arrangement and a Sister of the Year charm bracelet. Her friend and the 2004 Sister of the Year, Jean Corcoran, was to have presented Jacques with the bracelet but was unable to attend due to illness. Club President Quinnale Kinsey took Corcoran’s place.
