LEWISTON – The Y-Ettes will hold an end-of-the-year meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at the Jackie O’Donnell home, 140 Blackmere St., Auburn. People can bring something for the grill, plus something to share with group. All Y members are invited.

ID program

AUBURN – The Missing Children Alert Program will hold its next fingerprint and photo ID program between noon and 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at the K-Mart Department Store, 603 Center St.

Parents will receive a photo, fingerprint and card with space for height, weight and other information. The program is free, but donations are needed to keep the program going.

Degree work

MECHANIC FALLS – Dwinal Chapter 28, Order of the Eastern Star, will host the Maine Grand Family at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Elm Street Elementary School. All Eastern Star members are welcome as the Grand Officers do the degree work.

A reception for Worthy Grand Matron Norma F. Crabtree and Worthy Grand Patron John H. Coombs will follow. Refreshments will be served after the reception.

Strawberry fest

POLAND – The Poland Community Church Strawberry Festival will be held, rain or shine, on the lawn at the Poland Spring Inn, Saturday, June 25. From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., there will be strawberry shortcakes, pies, sundaes, jams and ice cream, all you can eat for $7.50. Individual servings will also be available. The inn is just off Route 26 at the Poland Spring Resort and Golf Course.

Bridge play

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on June 7 at the Multi-Purpose Center. North/South winners in Flight A were: first, Leslie Buzzell and Lucille Theriault; second, Jim and Ann Peteet; third, Jeanine Kivus and Rosemarie Goodwin.

Winners in Flight B were: first, Jim and Ann Peteet; second, Charles Bartlett and Allie Boyer. Flight C winners were Jim and Ann Peteet.

East/West winners in Flight A were: tied at first, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn, with Richard Balian and Richard Allen; third, David Lock and Patricia Garcia. Winners in Flight B were: first, Richard Balian and Richard Allen; second, Maude Abbott and Eleanor Abraham. Winners in Flight C were Richard Balian and Richard Allen.

Another game will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, at the center. A partner is guaranteed.

The club also met on June 8 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners were: first, Donald Smith and Katherine Love; second, Fred Letourneau and Sherry Hinckley; third, David Lock and Martine Begert; tied at fourth, Leslie Buzzell and Mary Leahey, with Paul Barber and Luther Merry.
