POLAND – The Poland Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at the Maine State Building on the hill at Poland Spring. Vice President Elliott Levy, who is also executive director of the Poland Spring Preservation Society, will give a tour of the building. All are welcome.

Silent coffee

LEWISTON – There will be a Silent Coffee from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Just Joan’s Cafe in the rear of Mr. Paperback, Promenade Mall, Lisbon Street.

The last gathering was attended by a mixture of deaf and hearing communities. Anyone who has questions should call Vicki Roy at 777-4797.

Seek Rainbowers

LEWISTON – The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is looking for former Rainbow Girls to join the International Rainbow Alumni Association, an organization developed through the Supreme Assembly for the purpose of rebuilding the International Order of Rainbow for Girls with the experience and wisdom of former Rainbow Girls.

Membership is open to Majority Members and former Rainbow girls who are at least age 20. Lewiston Assembly 14 is looking for any former Rainbow Girls who may be interested. For more information, people should contact Rebecca Skilling at 777-7470.

Needs help

TOPSHAM – Flying Changes Center is seeking help from individuals to assist in the center’s annual “Hay Day” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 18. Volunteers will help stack hay that will be used to feed the center’s 14 therapy horses over the next year.

The center provides therapeutic riding services to 55 to 60 special needs children and adults weekly. For more information, contact Center Director Barbara Doughty at 729-0168 or at www.flyingchanges.org.
