FARMINGTON FALLS – Seven teams participated in the third annual 2C Golf Tournament held June 5 at the Sandy River Golf Course.

The tournament, created for beginners and intermediate golfers who are accompanied by adults, benefited the Zone Youth Center in Phillips and included players from Phillips, Strong, Farmington and Kingfield.

Because all players were basically beginners, the winners were awarded trophies based on age group and scoring.

Ages 7 to 9: first, Ryan Pratt, 52; second, Andrew Pratt, 56; third, Nathan Pratt, 58.

Ages 10 to 12: first, Jake Veayo, 53; second, Zack Veayo, 62; third, Forest Mitchell, 66.

Ages 13 and up: first, Seth Searles, 43; second, Johnathan Boutilier, 44; third, Eaghan Maguire, 58.

All groups played from a spot 100 yards from the flag stick and played the course using their own personal par of Par 6 and Par 8. Adults accompanying the youth played from the regular tees.

Each child received a prize and received a goodie bag upon registration. The Zone provided hot dogs, chips and beverage for all players. The event included donations from 16 businesses and raised more than $500 for the Zone Youth Center.
