ORONO – Eye9d Presents will present Animal Suit Drive By with Headstart, Burning Val Halla, Third Floor View and Nick Name for Richard live in concert today at 8 p.m. at Ushuaia, 103 Park St.

Animal Suit Driveby infuses rock guitars and drumbeats with horns as well as heartfelt vocals and lyrics to create a sound and a feeling that is seldom heard on even major label releases.

In February, Animal Suit Driveby released its debut CD “110 Miles” on start-up Portland-based indi-label Musclecity Records. Since the release, the five 19 and 20-year-old band members, Hamden natives, opened for the Taste of Chaos tour at the Cumberland County Civic Center, toured to Ohio and back, had the song “Sugar Pills” added to regular rotation on WCYY, and sold almost 1,000 copies of their debut CD.

Animal Suit Driveby was chosen as one of 18 unsigned bands out of pool of 95,000 to be featured on the Purevolume.com home page and consistently draws crowds of 300-plus where ever they play in the state.

Joining the show will be Portland pop punk favorites Headstart, a high-energy four-piece band currently doing shows supporting its newest release “Sincerely Yours” on Musclecity Records.

Also on the bill are Burning Val Halla of Bangor and Nick Name for Richard of Camden. Rounding out the show is Third Floor View, which will compete in the WTOS Battle of the Bands in July and August.

Concert tickets are $10 and are available in advance at Bull Moose music stores, at Ticketweb.com, or at the Ushuaia box office the night of show only. This is an all-ages event.
