AUBURN – The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society has announced the winners of the annual Feline Foto Contest. The contest, held in conjunction with the Strutt Your Mutt Dog Walk on Saturday, May 21, celebrated the special cats in the community.

With 65 photos entered in the contest, the three judges, Laurie Steele, editor of the Twin City Times, Chris Facchini of WCSH Channel 6 and Shelter Director Steven Dostie, had the task of choosing the winners.

Photos were judged in four categories. Wilbur Trask of Lisbon Falls was the winner in the Best All-Around category.

Other winners were: Best Dressed, first and third place, Jen Turner of Auburn, and second, Kara Boucher of Turner; Funniest, first, Kara Boucher of Turner, second, Irene Lamarche and Shirley Quinlan of Lisbon and third, Allie Moore of Lewiston; Cutest, first, John and Diane Clairmont of Hartford, second, Jolene Brooks of Turner and third, Beverly Fortier of Auburn.

The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society provides a safe haven for approximately 3,600 sick, homeless and abused animals a year. Primary support comes from fund-raising events and donations.

The shelter gives back through community services, including animal intake and adoption, animal health services, reuniting people with lost animals, humane education and working with individuals who are disadvantaged or developmentally disabled.
