FARMINGTON – The Maine Technology Institute will hold an informal networking lunch and seed grant-writing workshop on Thursday, July 14, in North Dining Hall of the Olsen Student Center, University of Maine at Farmington.

Those interested are invited to meet the staff, learn about MTI’s programs and how to write a successful seed grant proposal of up to $10,000 for an innovative product or service.

MTI President Betsy Biemann will give a brief overview of programs and services at 11 a.m. followed by a networking lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Elizabeth Crabtree, seed grant program manager, will present her seed grant workshop from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

MTI offers grants and awards of up to $500,000 for innovative research and development technology based projects that lead to commercialization.

MTI also provides federal award technical assistance and commercialization assistance to help get an innovation to market.
