MONMOUTH – A Community Walk About will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, on a one-plus mile route through downtown Monmouth.

The walk is being held to raise awareness to the health benefits of physical activity and diabetes management. Participants will receive a “Step up for Better Health” T-shirt and bracelet. All are invited to visit the healthy lifestyle information and refreshment booths on site for the event.

Dance practice

LISBON FALLS – Ballroom dance pratice will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, at the renovated church, 57 Main St. (use High Street entrance). Cost is $3 a person. Light refreshments will be served. Anyone wishing more information should call 783-1914 or 754-9257.

OES merger

AUBURN – A special meeting of Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 24, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St., for the merger of Mt. Olivet Chapter 29 into Pine Cone Chapter 26.

A dinner will be served at 6 p.m. for the Grand Family, the district deputy grand matrons, the Membership Awareness Committee and the members of Mt. Olivet and Pine Cone chapters.

All Eastern Star members are welcome. Refreshments will be served in the dinning hall after the merger ceremony.

Distribution day

AUBURN – Auburn AC Serve (SHARE), part of Serve New England’s food and volunteer program, will have its Distribution Day from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at the Auburn Advent Christian Church, Whitney Street entrance. Fear workshop

LEWISTON – The Lewiston Center for Women, Work and Community is offering a free workshop, “Moving Through Fear,” beginning on July 11. The four-session workshop will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays through Aug. 1 at Lewiston/Auburn College.
