MONMOUTH – The Monmouth Masonic Hall is scheduled for a busy weekend beginning with a public breakfast in the dining room at 7 a.m. Sunday, June 26. At 10 a.m. lodge members will attend St. John’s Sunday service at the United Church.

The lodge will serve its annual Strawberry Festival at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 27, followed by a public past masters’ memorial service at 7:30.

At that time the memory of Everett Day will be celebrated. Day was a native and long-time resident of Monmouth. He was a well-known baseball player in the 1920s through 1940s and served as master of Monmouth Lodge.

Bible school

LEWISTON – Vacation Bible School will be held from Sunday through Friday, June 26 to July 1, at Thomas Memorial Baptist Church, 62 Strawberry Ave.

The theme is “Rambling Road Trip 2005.” There will be upbeat music and fun for ages 4 through sixth grade. The school will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. A family night and barbecue will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. All food is free. For more information, call 784-0034.
