CANTON – The East Wind Gospel Quartet of Turner will present a program at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 10, at the Canton Baptist Church. They will present southern gospel music. Members are Charles Barrett Sr., John Guy, Dan Boisse and Dave Bryant.
Gospel concert
ANDOVER – The Fishers of Men will host a free gospel concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at the gazebo on the Commons. The public is invited to the program consisting of traditional hymns, country and southern gospel music. If it is raining the concert will be canceled.
Members are all from the River Valley area and showcase a variety of musical skills. The group has been performing together for about six years in local and regional nursing homes, churches, gazebos and jails.
Moontide pageant
MEXICO – Enter to win a tiara/crown, sash and trophy at the Moontide Pageant, Princess/Prince or Queen/King to be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at the Mexico Recreation Center. Princess/Prince age levels are: 3 to 5, 6 to 8, 9 to 11, 12 to 14 and 15 to 17.
Queen/King age levels are: 18 to 20, 21 to 24, 24 to 35, 36 to 49 and 50 to 99. Five judges from the community will judge each individual on a point system. The overall winners (male and female) will be decided by the number of points each contestant accrues.
Optional categories are not included in the overall score. For pageant information call 369-9138 or 364-0836 or stop by Robert’s Chiropractic, 43 Exchange St., to obtain an application. Car show
RUMFORD – The eighth annual Moontide Water Festival Car Show will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 4, on River Street.
Admission for cars and trucks will be $5.
There will be a Best of Show award, Best of Chrome and Best Paint.
Car divisions will include Antiques to 1942, 1943-1954, 1955-1960, 1961-1965, 1966-1970, 1971-1980, 1981-1994, Mopars, Imports, Special Interest, Street Rods, Chevy 1966-1970, Ford 1966-1970, 1995-2005, Cameros and Firebirds and Chevelles.
Truck divisions will include Antiques to 1955, 1956-2005, All 4×4’s and Mini’s.
