BETHEL – The Bethel Historical Society is seeking sponsors for the Portland Brass Quintet, which will perform at a two-hour concert at noon at the July 4 community picnic on the grounds of the Dr. Moses Mason House. The event is free, and all those attending are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch.

On Sudbury Canada Days, Aug. 12 to 14, a number of 18th century re-enactors will be present to provide insights into life in the colonial period of New England history during the French and Indian wars and the battle for American independence. Craftspeople and artisans are expected to be present as well.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to support the two events is invited to do so by sending a gift to the society at P.O. Box 12, Bethel, ME 04217-0012. All sponsors will be listed during the event and all donations are tax deductible.
