MONMOUTH – An open house will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at Cumston Hall. Cumston Hall trustees, Cumston Public Library trustees and the Theater at Monmouth are hosting the event.

Tours of the hall, led by trustees, will be held at noon and 2 p.m., taking people into the our-plus levels of the hall, and will take about 45 minutes.

Cumston Library Association will have refreshments in the lower level. Marjorie Standish’s Wild Maine Blueberry Cake will be served, along with punch. The association hopes that people will join the fund-raising group with $2 a year dues.

The library will have extended hours from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. with the book club, knitting group, quilting class and Monmouth Museum having displays in the reception room. Storytime, with the children’s helper, will be held in the lower level at noon.

A fabric will hanging of Cumston Hall, created by Penny Ackley, a local artist, has a permanent spot, under glass, at the entrance to the library.

The Theater at Monmouth director and actors will lead “Behind the Scenes” tours of the costume shop, the prop shop, rehearsals and Toad Hall at 1 and 3 p.m. They will take about 45 minutes.
