NORWICH, Conn. (AP) – Tyler Von Schell and A.J. LaBarbera hit back-to-back home runs in the ninth inning to give the Norwich Navigators a 3-2 win over the Portland Sea Dogs Friday night in the Eastern League.

Von Schell tied the game with a two-run homer and LaBarbera followed with the walk-off job off Marc Deschenes (3-2).

Norwich’s comeback wasted a great performance by Portland starter Jon Lester, who struck out a season-high 10 batters in his second straight start.Von Schell and LaBarbera were the only Navigators (35-40) to pick up hits against Lester. Both were singles. Lester was trying to beat Norwich for the fourth time this year.

Oscar Montero (4-1) picked up the win in relief.

The Sea Dogs (38-32) scored two runs in the eighth inning off Billy Sadler. Brandon Moss’ RBI single made it 1-0. An error on the play by Carlos Valderrama in center field allowed Jared Sandberg to advance to third base. Sandberg scored on Jeremy West’s sacrifice fly. Norwich starter Seung Song pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing six hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
