WATERFORD – The first of six summer indoor yard sales will be held from 7 a.m. to noon Monday, July 4, in the Wilkins Community House basement in Waterford Village.

Future sales will be on the Wednesday summer breakfast dates of July 20, Aug. 3 and 17, from 7 a.m. to noon. There will be two Saturday sales in the same location from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 16 and Aug. 27.

New items will appear at each sale. Proceeds will go to the Waterford Congregational Church Improvement Fund. For more information or to donate goods, call Karen Fillebrown at 583-2320.

The Mission Outreach Committee, under the supervision of Nancy Engdahl, will run a food booth from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. July 4 across from the Town Common on the corner of Plummer Hill Road. Hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks and homemade cookies will be for sale before, during and after the parade.

Proceeds will benefit the Waterford Santa Program, a new community organization to help families at Christmas.

Worship time

PARIS – The First Congregational Church in South Paris will gather for worship at 9 a.m. during July and August. Sunday July 3, the Rev. Don Mayberry’s sermon is titled “The Individual and the Common Good” and will look at the gospel call to live in community with one another.

First Congregational Church is located at 17 East Main St. and the church is handicapped accessible.

Makem Brothers

BERLIN, N.H. – The Makem Brothers with Mickey and Liam Spain, a nationally-known Irish vocal group and Irish folk band, will appear at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 14, at the Community Arts Center, 155 Emery St.

Advance tickets are $15 and available at Gills Flower Shop, Main Street Berlin, and Wonderland Book Store, Exchange Street, Gorham. Tickets at the door are $18.

Members of the National Guard 2-197 from the North Country who recently returned from Iraq have been invited as guests. For more information, call the Arts Center Office at 752-1028.
