LIVERMORE FALLS – After two votes to elect a chairman of the SAD 36 Board of Directors ended in 6-6 ties, it came down to the luck of the draw Thursday.
Directors cast written ballots for both Denise Rodzen and Ashley O’Brien who were nominated to lead the board, both Rodzen of Livermore Falls and O’Brien of Livermore said Friday.
Rodzen has served the district as chairwoman of the board for several years.
To break the tie, two pieces of paper were used with one having the word chair written on it and the other blank, they said.
O’Brien drew the lucky paper.
O’Brien said he plans to “try to share the ball and continue building a strong team.”
Fred Nadeau was elected vice chairman in a 7-5 vote over Rodzen, who was also nominated.
