PARIS – The Foster-Carroll Post 72, American Legion, and Auxiliary installations of officers were made special because there were many state Legion and Auxiliary department officers present as guests and installing officers.

The guests stayed for the social time and refreshments that were served after the ceremonies.

Legion and Auxiliary members said public support of the Poppy Days in May raised more than $2,610 for the veterans’ welfare fund. Another $14,520 was raised on April 30 at the public supper and Chinese auction held at the hall.

The Maine Medical Center benefited from the blood donation drive held at the Foster-Carroll Hall on June 9 with Marilyn Ramsay, Lillian Herrick, Pat Dyer, Pat Foster, Virginia Gammon and Jean and Joe Lamonte.

During the business meeting after the installation, the Auxiliary and Post voted to hold only executive committee meetings during June, July and August, but no regular supper-business meetings until September. There will be the annual Sunday barbecue.
