MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Jeffrey B. Wetter received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Physics from Middlebury College at the 2005 Commencement ceremony on May 22.

Jeff graduated with Cum Laude Honors, as well as receiving Departmental Honors in Physics. He completed a senior thesis that focused on such topics as the cosmological constant, the theory of relativity, time travel and the mathematical constructs associated with whether the universe will contract or continue to expand. During his four years at Middlebury College Jeff was involved as an outdoor leader for incoming freshman, worked at the college rock gym and for the last two years served as the supervisor of the Middlebury rock gym. He made numerous rock climbing excursions, which included trips to the Buttermilks (Bishop) and Joshua Tree National Park in California, the Gunks and Adirondacks in New York and Fontainebleau in France. Jeff was an original member of the 2003 BioBus crew, a group of 13 students who worked as a team to purchase a 1988 school bus, converted it to run on used vegetable oil and then drove across country, stopping at such venues as the Red River Gorge in Kentucky, Chicago, the National Outdoor Leadership School in Lander, Wyoming and ending in California where the bus was auctioned off on eBay. His future goals focus on attending a doctoral level graduate program in the area of theoretical physics. Jeff is a year 2000 graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and the son of Berwyn and Delores Wetter of South Paris.
