WATERFORD – The Waterford Congregational Church is holding the first of six summer indoor yard sales will be held from 7 a.m. until noon on Monday, July 4, in the Wilkins Community House Basement. While the community breakfasts are happening upstairs and the parade is passing through the village, bargain hunters will find treasures galore in the cool basement setting of the Wilkins House.

Future sales will be on the Wednesday Summer Breakfast dates of July 20th, Aug. 3rd, and Aug. 17th, from 7 a.m. to noon. There will be two Saturday indoor yard sales in the same location from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 16 and Aug. 27. New items will appear at each sale. Proceeds from the sale will go to the Waterford Congregational Church Improvement Fund. For more information or to donate goods, call Karen Fillebrown at 583-2320.

Meanwhile, the Mission Outreach Committee under the supervision of Nancy Engdahl will be running a food booth across from the Town Common on the corner of Plummer Hill Road from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on the 4th of July. Hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks and homemade cookies will be for sale before, during and after the parade.

Proceeds from the food booth will benefit the Waterford Santa program, a new community organization to help families at Christmas time.
