LEWISTON – Lewiston Elks Lodge 371 Exalted Ruler Jackielynn Farrell will join members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks from across the country as they gather in Reno from July 10 to 14 for the 141st National Grand Lodge Convention.

She will represent the lodge by voting on key issues facing the order and electing its national leaders. Farrell will be accompanied by her father, Maine Elks State President Elmer Berry. Berry will represent the state Elks.

In addition to helping set the course of the Elks in the coming year, Farrell of Auburn and Berry of Greene will also learn the national results of the order’s many programs.

Last year more than 1 million Elks members made charitable contributions totaling more than $206.3 million, which went to support scholarships and education grants; drug awareness and education programs; aid to the nation’s veterans; youth athletics; and the state associations’ major projects, which provide funding for everything from cancer treatment and research to shelters for victims of domestic violence.
