SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – Jason Kreis scored on a penalty kick in the 90th minute to rally Real Salt Lake to a 2-2 tie with the MetroStars on Monday night.

In the 44th minute, MetroStars forward Sergio Galvan Rey had a long shot stopped by Real goalkeeper D.J. Countess. But Countess couldn’t hold onto the ball, and Razov scored his fourth goal of the season off the rebound.

The MetroStars (5-4-6) scored again in the 48th minute when Mike Magee took a pass from Razov 7 yards out and curled the ball past a diving Countess. Eddie Gaven also assisted on the goal.

Real (3-9-4) cut the lead in the 78th minute when Seth Trembly, who entered the game as a sub three minutes earlier, curled a long cross-field shot just inside the far post.

Less than a minute after the MetroStars’ second goal, Real defender Brian Dunseth received a red card for a hard foul on Gaven during a physical run up the sideline. After a brief meeting with the trainers, Gaven returned.

In the 69th minute Razov received a yellow card for holding Real’s Clint Mathis, and 30 seconds later Michael Bradley of the MetroSTars received a yellow card for fouling Mathis near midfield. Trembly received a yellow card for a foul on Magee in the 83rd minute.
